SKM Aesthetic Services (Level 2)

The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to foster a safe and healthy service environment, avoid accidents and minimize incidents at workplace and provide assurance to client of safe, hygienic and well maintained salon environment in accordance with regulatory/statutory bodies requirements. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:-.

·         Check workplace safety, hygiene and maintenance requirements

·         Carry out workplace up-keeping preparation    

·         Carry out workplace safety, hygiene and maintenance activities

The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to recommend appropriate services and products for optimum result in accordance with service recommended. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:

·         Carry out aesthetic service consultation

·         Recommend  aesthetic service

·         Carry out aesthetic service consultation documentation

The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to improve and enhance facial skin condition. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:

·         Check client consultation information

·         Carry out manual facial services preparation

·         Carry out client preparation

·         Perform facial cleansing

·         Perform facial deep cleansing

·         Carry out facial massage

·         Carry out facial masking

·         Carry out protective care procedure

·         Provide home care advice

The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able toto improve and enhance client skin condition using facial electrical equipments. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:

·         Check client consultation information

·         Carry out  facial electrotherapy services  preparation

·         Carry out client  preparation

·         Perform facial Electro therapy service

·         Provide home care advice

·         Up keep service area

The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able totemporarily remove or lightens unwanted superfluous hair in accordance with client’s requirement. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:

·         Check client consultation information

·         Carry out superfluous hair depilation/lightening service  preparation

·         Carry out client  preparation

·         Perform superfluous hair depilation/lightening service 

·         Provide after care advice

The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able toimprove and enhance hand and finger nail appearance, ensure clients hand and fingernails are groomed and in healthy condition according to client needs, procedure and services requirement.Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:

·         Carry out client  preparation

·         Perform manicure service

·         Provide after care advice

The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to ensure a clients toe nails are groomed to service chartered of beauty therapy services requirement. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:

·         Carry out pedicure service preparation

·         Carry out client  preparation

·         Perform pedicure service

·         Provide after care advice

·         Upkeep service area
